In the current evolving situation with COVID-19, we like all other organisations need to make decisions on the viability of events, taking into account the welfare of our membership as well as Swiss Federal and Cantonal advice or regulations.

Following the directions of the Swiss Federal and Cantonal authorities, the SGIS Board has decided to postpone the upcoming SGIS Annual Conference and Gala Dinner, due to take place on March 20-21, 2020. The conference will now be rescheduled for March 19-20, 2021, at the Institut Florimont.

We recognise the disappointment this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding. We hope that you will join us at our conference in 2021.

20-20 vision: A focus on the changing face of education

Preparing the ‘students of today for the challenges of tomorrow’ has long been a central tenet for educators. Yet, it seems to be more crucial now than at any other time.
How can we best support our multilingual learners, and provide for their success?
How can we ensure that our children develop the skills and attitudes to ensure their full and meaningful participation in society?
How can we fully plan for and utilize the range of learning environments to ensure the learning spaces within and beyond our school’s walls are organized, positive and safe?
These questions and many more like them will be addressed at the upcoming SGIS Annual Conference, which takes place at Institut Florimont, in March 2020.
